I’m glad to see this announcement from Tascam regarding a fix for the DR-40XP for the battery life issues. Units to be repaired have to be returned to Tascam, and there’s a range of serial numbers for affected units.
I bought one earlier this year but found that the batteries would be dead after a few days of the unit just sitting on my desk. Not good for a recorder that I expect to be working when I grab it. I was sorry to send it back because they’d fixed the RF interference and preamp problems the DR-40x had, and I quite liked the unit. Maybe I need to get a new one!
